MANDELA NELSON
Nelson Mandela is an MBA student of Makerere University. Nelson is in final year and he is currently conducting his MBA final year research project. He holds Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) of Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.
Nelson also participated in the MIT Entrepreneurship Bootcamp (MIT Beyond Food) class of 2017.
He is a member of International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals, USA.
Nelson worked as Co-founder & CEO of Fruiti-Cycle (U) Limited, a social startup that innovated an electric tri-cycle mounted with a refrigerated storage unit that was meant to prolong the shelve lives of fruits and vegetables in developing countries. He was also the Chief Finance Officer at Fruiti-Cycle (U) Limited.
In addition to that, Nelson worked as Account Manager at Blue Bytes(U) Limited and was responsible for creating business relationships with clients, closing sales deals, carrying out market research, suggesting product improvement, handling customers’ complaints and evaluating sales options.
Besides that, Mr. Nelson Mandela worked as Finance Intern at Uganda Revenue Authority and participated in Tax Refund, revenue reporting, financial reporting, staff payments, supplier’s payment processing and revenue reconciliation.
He also worked as Global Ambassador at Thought for Food Foundation, Basel, Switzerland.
Nelson volunteered and he is a current member of Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) of United Nations Programme on Space Applications.
